About Mark Lee

Mark has been presenting seminars and training courses for over 20 years. He is Chairman of the Tax Advice Network which provides access to vetted independent specialist tax advisers all around the UK. He was also Chairman of the Chartered Accountants’ Tax Faculty from 2003-2005 and has worked with hundreds of accountants over the years.

Mark Lee is a sought after commentator, speaker and broadcaster appearing on BBC Breakfast, Working Lunch, Newsnight and Sky as well as being featured in Accountancy Age, Accountancy and many other business periodicals and online forums.

During his thirty-year career in the accountancy and tax profession Mark provided commercial, business and tax advice to many businesses, large and small. As a result he has a reputation as being an agent for change with an ability to motivate and excite those who hear him speak and with whom he works. He no longer gives tax advice himself but remains a vocal and regular commentator on tax issues and financial developments.

In addition to his articles in the professional press, business and National media Mark authors three highly successful blogs, one on the TaxBuzz, one for Ambitious Accountants and one containing Accountant jokes and fun.

Mark’s profile within his profession has resulted in him regularly being invited to speak at prestigious conferences of accountants and business owners. He is also a keen networker and frequently sees the opportunities to link people within his networks. He is regularly commended for his presentations and talks which are always focused on real-world, commercial and practical issues. Indeed he prides himself on delivering thought-provoking, informative, inspirational and entertaining presentations that have lasting impact.

Mark has been an active enthusiastic but cynical user of social media since 2006. He is one of the most active accountancy trained bloggers, tweeters and contributors to online media. Despite his relatively high ‘klout’ score he doesn’t advocate that everyone needs to do the same.  Accountancy Age magazine suggested in January 2011 that Mark is probably the most networked accountant in the UK.
